Not Green with Envy

PANTONE® has chosen Greenery for their 2017 color of the year and it suggests minimal, nature, and replenishing- quite the opposite of  the luxurious emerald Green with Envy color chosen in 2013. Greenery is a shade of green that is actually a mix of yellow and green, specifically Pantone 15-0343.

For nearly 17 years now, Pantone, the color institute, has chosen a color to represent the upcoming year and is known worldwide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer. Historically this hand picked color by Pantone has influenced everything from design, fashion, architecture, food, and so much more. With a rising popularity to unplug and reconnect with nature these days it was no surprise when Pantone announced their 2017 color of the year that it was a green hue which screams just that.

This color is described by Pantone to be  “bringing forth a refreshing take, Greenery is a tangy yellow-green that speaks to our need to explore, experiment and reinvent. Illustrative of flourishing foliage, the fertile attributes of Greenery signals one to take a deep breath, oxygenate and reinvigorate“.

This color is so popular that it actually has its own Instagram feed, PANTONE. Follow it to unveil some design and decor inspirations for yourself or head over to their website to see a variety of color palettes that compliment this color. For me, I have incorporated a shade of green on my front door which isn’t exactly Greenery but in the wheel house of yellow greens. Below is a picture my front door which is a brighter green and one that I feel reinvigorates me every time I open my door. To see more of this house go to nest real estate.
